Legacy Giving

A Message from Lynn Brockwell-Carey, Executive Director, Brevard Neighborhood Development Coalition

Thank you for visiting Brevard Neighborhood Development Coalition’s website. Isn’t our mission exciting?! I hope you find each page to be compelling as you read about the many ways that BNDC impacts struggling communities, bringing hope and opportunity to families.

Our outreach is unique. BNDC values partnership and a listening posture. After gaining understanding of residents’ needs, we appeal to the broader community – casting vision and facilitating as all stakeholders contribute expertise and resources. BNDC staff and volunteers extend Christ’s love as we engage with our neighbors. We invest our energy and donor funds in programs that affirm the dignity of others, extending hands up (not hand-outs). The remarkable reduction in crime in north Melbourne’s Booker T. Washington neighborhood is testimony that BNDC leaders are not afraid to take on difficult projects and to walk alongside resident leaders as they reclaim their streets.

If you are a long-time supporter or if you are a new member of the BNDC family, please take a moment to consider your potential to have a lasting, restorative impact on future generations.

While “planned giving” can seem like a daunting, complicated endeavor, the truth is that much planned giving is really very simple. It is also so very worth your time and consideration. What you chose to share of your resources is an important part of your legacy…a testimony to what you value for this world!

Planned giving allows you to leverage your philanthropic passion and meet your personal and financial objectives for your legacy. Options range from estate gifts which are easy and affordable to establish, to more complex gift and tax planning strategies. A planned gift can even be designed to provide you (or your designated beneficiaries) with income now, while at the same time mitigating tax liabilities through a charitable deduction. Your financial advisor can help you through the planning process.

Also, BNDC has established an endowment at the Community Foundation for Brevard (CFB), our partner in planned giving and in managing our endowment fund. They are available to discuss options and answer questions at your convenience and no charge at 321-752-5505.

Thank you again for your consideration of this financial opportunity and for your dedication and support of BNDC and our community. Should you wish to discuss this further or to contact me for any reason, please call at 321-253-4214 or email at lynn@bndcserve.org.
